AG Here!

nerdy Ghanaian woman whose mind takes her to the most random places!

So I created this personal website as a way to steadily transition away from social media. There are so many changes happening in that space across the different platforms that make me uneasy and uncomfortable. Essentially, I am not happy with the way these companies are moving these days as it relates to my data, privacy, sense of control over my information as well as policies that enable widespread disinformation in an already dysfunctional climate. Transitioning to a personal site helps me address some of these concerns. I also believe it will help curb the temptation to overshare online that comes with being on sites like Facebook due to the kind of real time engagement that happens there with connections that may be superficial in actuality but give a false sense of safety and security online. A public website in some ways is an even bigger risk so it forces me to be more circumspect on what I do end up sharing online. Maybe this doesn't make much sense but that's where my head is at as I type this intro.

Anyway, so about me for you friends old and new:

I am a 90s baby born on 18th September 1990. I am an only child whose conception and survival till birth was nothing short of a miracle. Thus, my mother saw it fit to legally name me Amazing Grace Lois Danso as a testimony of my birth and to show her gratitude to God. While I retain a belief in the existence of an Almighty God/Deity, I am not religious and therefore, do not hold that belief in alignment with any established faith/religious system. I learn and take the good from all faith and belief and even non-belief systems. My goal in life is to become a better version of myself daily committed to doing no harm to others while leveraging my privileges to advocate for the oppressed in our society. It's why I wear my identity as an intersectional feminist with pride.

I have so many interests as you will come to see over time and thus tend to share opinions and personal knowledge on a wide spectrum of things. These interests include food, music, reading, writing, arts and crafts, politics, social justice, health, technology, science, and so much more. Don't be shocked if this space feels so random as it evolves. Randomness encapsulates who I am as a person lol. It's why I named this site The LinkAG (pronounced as linkage) to serve as a link to all things AG (aka me).

I hope this site can become a safe space for you as you navigate my personal journey through the pages of this site. Cheers!
