Just finished my first of many listens of M.anifest’s new album, New Road and Guava Trees. It is a superb album with absolutely NO SKIPPABLE song. Every track is dope. My biggest gripe though is that some tracks were way too short. Example is Eye Red and Wine and Blues. I couldn’t decide on a favorite song in all honesty. But if I’m forced to pick, I’ll do FTYD (feat A-Reece) for both message and global appeal. Whoever produced this album did M.Dot a solid. The sound quality is amazing. Besides King Promise, I’m not familiar with the other featured artists but I’m now an automatic fan of theirs because they brought their A-game. You can tell M.anifest pays attention and works on honing his craft. I love how he experimented with different sounds on this but remained authentically himself. “My God” is the unsuspecting hero showing you his range as an artist. Lastly, I love the cover art (oh hi there Maajoa Asabea Yeboah of Ma!). The Ghanaian Youth rising vibe it evokes is welcome. I also love the brilliance of making the piece of earth they’re standing on a piece of an actual guava. All round, a solid album and rollout! ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
