Overall Impressions: it was an enjoyable read overall. It actually started a bit on a wild note that had me hooked from jump. I won’t spoil that part for you. It was a romance novel that had a lot of romance expected moments but also quite dark in terms of all the trauma on display through the characters. She did however, cut through the darkness with lighthearted moments that would elicit a laugh. I did find myself questioning if the characters were genuinely in love with each other or had formed a trauma bond of sorts. By the end, I concluded that it was both and that this wasn’t necessarily a bad thing once they recognized it and were willing to work on healing through it all. I did feel the book could have benefited from one more chapter or two before the epilogue which wound up being longer than I am used to reading. I also felt at certain points that she was cramming two distinct books into one but in the end it was hard to sever them neatly so it worked out albeit with the tension I felt from seeing two potential books. Overall, I liked the story. It was familiar yet unique in its own way.

Something that stood out: I loved how meta it felt in the sense that we got stories within stories as the two main characters were both writers. Also loved the spotlight she gave to invisible disabilities such as chronic debilitating migraines.
